A film about the life of women in Mali from the advent of independence up until the present day. A "histoire au feminin" placed between dictatorship and democracy. The rebellious Ramata Dia, a courageous journalist and mother, accompanies us through three decades of her country’s history while searching for female liberties between the presidential palace and the palaver trees. In addition, we meet women of three generations on their exhausting march towards a new African feminity.
