THE AUTUMM OF TYRANNY

A film about the change of power at an African court during the times of democratic "Perestroika" in Africa. The sultan's family had ruled over its people, the Bamoun, in the grasslands of Cameroon for 18 generations. After the death of old sultan EI Hadj Seidou Njimolouh Njoya several years ago, his son Mbombo, a modern bureaucrat and hungry for power, made his bid for the throne. Having previously served many years as a loyal minister to Cameroon's dictator-president in the capital , Mbombo faced his people’s mistrust and antipathy. In search for their freedom and basic human rights, the Bamoun burned down the property of this undemocratic successor to the throne.
